Merchant mimicry
OVERVIEW
The adventurers return home after a long stint on the road. Their first stop in town is to visit their favorite merchant, Sir Caldwell, a former knight turned blacksmith and merchant. Familiar sights and sounds greet the adventurers as they enter the humble store, but somethings amiss. The usually jovial man is much more stiff than the party remembers. As a matter of fact, was he always this tall?
Sir Caldwell has been replaced by a doppelgänger since the party have been gone. It doesn’t seem like anyone else in town has notice, or maybe it’s just that no one has said anything.

The Doppelgänger (A.K.A. Zilum)
The doppelgänger is not aggressive, but could be made hostile if provoked. Zilum (they/them) is happy with the current situation and want to keep things as they are. They haven’t hurt Sir Caldwell, but assure the party that they easily could.

OUTCOMES & REWARDS
Working with either party can result in rewards for the party. Befriending Zilum can lead to them agreeing to help you in instances where impersonation and deception are necessary. Freeing Marcus will restore his stop to working order, with reduced prices and the opportunity to commission custom items.
